With Q2 behind us, it’s a good time to reflect on the progress and changes that have shaped our web design agency over the past few months. Here’s an overview of our last few months and plans for the next quarter too:
Expanding the Team
One of our most significant milestones this quarter was expanding our team to four members (a mix of full and part-time). This growth in the team is crucial as it enables us to distribute the agency’s workload more effectively. With a team of four, we are better equipped to have each person focus on their core strengths and thus, create a better service for our clients.
Delegation and Process Development
Until now, I found myself heavily involved in client support and administrative tasks. With our client base now at 30, these responsibilities were eating up roughly 6 hours of my day each day, often involving routine tasks like invoicing and minor website updates. This situation was hindering our company’s growth potential.
Recognizing this bottleneck, we made a conscious effort to delegate these tasks to other team members. By doing so, I can focus more on strategic initiatives and business development. We are continuously developing processes to streamline client support and administrative work, ensuring that these responsibilities do not fall back on me but are also done to a high standard. This delegation is essential for scaling our business and enhancing our service quality.
Rediscovering and Emphasizing Our Learndash Development Niche
About three years ago, we decided to niche down and specialize in Learndash projects (here are some things to consider when niching down your offering). However, we realised that this specialisation was not actually reflected on our website. Our site lacked clear communication of our expertise in Learndash development, which is something we needed to address.
Most of our new clients, particularly those who are not referrals, come from our Learndash development niche. This trend highlighted the importance of showcasing our specialisation more prominently on our website. Therefore, we have prioritised updating our website to reflect our niche in Learndash development this quarter. Our goal is to have the updated site live by the end of this month (July, 2024).
Looking Ahead to Q3
As we move into Q3, our primary focus will be on doubling down on our Learndash Development niche. The updated website will play a crucial role in this strategy, making it easier for potential clients to recognize our expertise in Learndash. We believe that a clear, niche-focused website will attract more targeted clients and drive business growth.
By continuing to refine our processes, delegate effectively, and emphasize our niche, we are confident that Q3 will bring even more success and growth to our agency.
Full Time Web Design Jobs: A Promising Side Project
In addition to the exciting developments at our web design agency, our side project, Full Time Web Design Jobs, has also made significant strides this quarter. Here’s a quick summary of its progress and future plans:
Website Launch and Vision
We are thrilled to announce that the Full Time Web Design Jobs website is now live! Almost a year ago, I published an article explaining why I believe this niche website has great potential, which you can read here. The core idea behind this website is simple: it’s a dedicated job board exclusively for full-time web design positions.
How It Works
The concept is straightforward. Full Time Web Design Jobs aggregates web design job listings from multiple sources, formats them to match our website’s style, and presents them in an easy-to-navigate format. We then curate each job to ensure quality and relevance before making them live. Our goal is to connect web designers with the best full-time opportunities in their field.
Growth and Marketing Strategies
This quarter, our primary focus will be on growing the website’s subscriber base and increasing its visibility. We believe the website is functioning well, but growth is essential. Our strategies include:
- Engaging with Communities: Commenting on related questions in forums to drive awareness and traffic.
- Search Engine Optimization (SEO): Implementing SEO strategies to improve our search rankings, although we understand this will take time to show results. We have begun to show for very relevant terms in Google however so with time, this strategy may prove fruitful.
Automating the Process
To streamline operations and enhance efficiency, we are working on automating the entire job listing process. Currently, the website pulls in web design jobs from various resources and formats them according to our style. Afterward, we manually review and select the best ones to go live. Our objective is to refine this process further, allowing jobs to go live automatically before human moderation, ensuring a quicker turnaround and continuous job availability.
By focusing on these areas, we aim to establish Full Time Web Design Jobs as a leading resource for web designers seeking full-time employment, while also creating a sustainable and automated platform.
Both our main agency and side project have seen substantial progress this quarter, and we’re excited about the growth and opportunities that lie ahead. Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to innovate and improve our services!
