“How to bootstrap a business” by Pieter Levels

By September 18, 2020 No Comments

So many of ideas shared in this talk were completely new to me when I first watched this video. Whether you agree with the points made or not, it’s definitely worth watching or passively listening to this hour long talk on “Turning Side Projects into Profitable Businesses”.

What the talk includes

Speaking from Dojo coworking space in Bali, Pieter Levels discusses the following:

  • turning side projects into profitable businesses
  • his failed bootstrapped businesses
  • feeling depressed because his life was going badly
  • starting 12 startups in 12 months
  • launching Nomad List and Remote OK (making roughly $35,000/month between them)
  • doing different and original things to form original ideas
  • starting small in bootstrapped business rather than “thinking big”
  • having an idea list
  • avoiding group-think and just doing the basics yourself
  • growing a business organically
  • putting “Buy” buttons on your website
  • automating rather than hiring

Hope you enjoy and learn a few things 🙂
