The 2026 Garda Trainee Recruitment Competition opened today, Monday 11th May 2026. Applications are open now at publicjobs.ie and close at 3pm on Wednesday 3rd June 2026.

Two Garda Trainee competitions now run within a single year. Since the 2025 process reforms, the time from application to entering Templemore has been cut dramatically, with some candidates entering training in as little as 15 weeks. This competition moves faster than any previous campaign. If you are serious about getting through, the time to start preparing is now.
